About Me!

Hi, I’m Sam! I am 27 years old, and have been working as a personal trainer in Cityfitness since 2021.

My Interests;

I am very passionate about health and wellbeing, and all it brings!

My Exercise Journey:

I had my own journey with getting healthy prior to becoming a personal trainer, by having one in 2014 (when I was 16yrs) and from 2017-2019. My reasons were for weight loss and muscle gain.

Gym History;

I have been consistently working out as since 2017 within the gym and have participated in group-like classes to consistently having 1 on 1 sessions, sometimes all at once.

My Business;

My business grew during the pandemic and with those challenges has been able to succeed until present day!

Website:

I enjoy the outdoors, a theme you will pick up exploring this website and the membership part.

Personal Life:

I love hanging out with my friends and clients!

My favourite thing to do on the weekends, is chill out, watch some Netflix and food!

My Mental Approach:

I personally have had experiences in not feeling comfortable being in a gym-like environment, and (from only my experience) can understand how scary it is to do something (like exercise) which can induce more stress if not approached appropriately.

My Sessions;

The environment I hope to bring out during sessions, is one which makes the person feel safe and heard, to create healthy communication, which allows for long lasting periods of calmness to escape to (when dealing with the stressors of everyday life); and also show some physical progress!

Refer to “My Fitness Journey” in the Journey’s section of the website for specific information on my fitness history. :)

My Process

Each Session is carefully written down, so I am easily able to recall what they have done over a period of time.

This has worked for 50+ clients.

This ensures me that they are being challenged enough but not too much. Prevent injuries from occurring and repeating things (exercises; verbal cues, etc..) which are not affective for that person; so it’s easier to learn.

Below will show examples of 2 clients with very different health needs and goals. (Depending on how often they trained some of these workout booklets were split into 2 parts; this was to ensure they were being recorded thoroughly).

Accountability from the trainer this way, has helped to prioritise a safe environment when clients are training.

Client 1. Goal- weight loss and muscle gain; mental health.
